REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 9/30/2009

The fiscal year ending 9/30/2009 was by far a very productive year despite having to move from the Ministry’s house of operation mid-year.

The organization received financial donations totaling $10,881, of which only 24% were spent on operating costs (ie: building, transportation, etc.). We in turn gave out to 10 other organizations a total of $1,276 or 12% of our gross income; these other organizations were churches or Christian ministries directly engaged in putting forth the gospel and/or helping those in need.

Besides the monetary receipts and donations, we also received and distributed a considerable amount of food, furniture, clothing and other necessary daily items to a large variety of people and organizations helping those in need. We gave out baby items/furniture and accessories to several families and pregnancy centers in Schenectady and Kingston. We helped people in need with furniture, clothing and food supplies, we did this directly to several families and also to several organizations such as: The Albany City Mission, City Mission of Schenectady, Jezreel International, Scotia Food Pantry, Ronald McDonald House of Albany, The Salvation Army and some local churches. We gave bicycles out to those in need, on the street and through the local church. We gave a 2300 watt portable generator in excellent condition to a Christian Radio Network that serves eastern New York and two large capacity freezers to 2 different churches feeding the hungry of their communities, one in Albany and one in Schenectady. We gave a newer push lawn mower to a Schenectady church and provided lawn care through the summer to another Schenectady church.  We served 960+ meals.

We conducted several outreaches throughout the summer months:

In June we held a food drive with 3 local Dollar Tree Stores and collected hundreds of items that in turn helped several local families in need as well as helped to fill 325 bags of groceries that were handed out in Hamilton Hill, Schenectady at the 2009 WOW Jam in Jerry Burrell Park. We also held a fund-raiser at the Walmart in Glenville which generated $200 toward the Koinonia Christian Ministry building fund in Hamilton Hill which will be used to serve the children of that community.

In July we participated in the 2009 WOW Jam in Jerry Burrell Park, Hamilton Hill, Schenectady. We served the community during the event by providing water and refreshments; we served 2,950 persons!  And 440 persons made decisions for Christ!

In August we participated in the Schenectady March 4 Jesus, providing cases of water, 500 hotdog buns and condiments. We also were present at the 3rd annual Reach the Streets in Troy; to help this event we donated 100 hamburgers, 118 hotdogs and the buns and condiments to go with them. We offered prayer to those in need during the event and saw several people touched by the Lord Jesus with healing, deliverance and being set free from various troubles.  Late in August we received a donation of new school supplies which we in turn were able to offer to several local families and their children and after helping those dozen or so kids, we were able to ship a box of the remaining supplies to a Port Jervis church offering back packs to kids filled with school supplies.

We closed our fiscal year with a sizable donation of craft supplies which in turn were given to a local church’s Sunday School program.

We continued to keep the Feasts of the Lord and to see our Living God sustain and prosper our efforts.

We incorporated Cry Out To Him Ministries.

We want to give special thanks to those who sponsored our efforts with prayer and/or goods or financial assistance: The Golub Foundation, George Weston Bakeries and the Freihoffer’s Outlet, Yankee One Dollar, The Dollar Tree Stores, Hannaford Supermarkets, Adirondack Beverages, Calvary Tabernacle, Abounding Grace Church, Community Fellowship at Princetown, Pastors  Ted & Yolanda Ward, Pastor and Mrs. Cornaire, New Life Ministries,  Dave Geier, The Vaughans, Duane Bechand, The Gauthiers, The Sadlers and Mrs. Wright, Patricia Liddle and the others who have helped along the way this year.  A very special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. M. Nealon.   Thank you everyone!

2008

In addition to continuing the work begun in 2007, we were blessed to help a father and his five sons, who lost their home in a fire.  Through the generous support of several organiztions and individuals we delivered furniture, clothes, housewares, beds and several personal items to them as they moved into their new apartment; thanks be to God!

The Ministry participated in the first annual WOW Jam in Schenectady on July 15, 2008.  Held at Jerry Burrell Park in Hamilton Hill and headed up by Pastor Ted Ward of Koinonia Christian Ministries.  Sought After Ministry, through the generous support of many persons and companies, helped to provide hot meals to over 1,500 people, cold water to as many and more and helped fill and distribute about 150 bags of groceries to area families.  We also were able to provide bibles, children's books, baby food and many other items to the people of that community, all for free!  We saw many hundreds of people respond to the gospel message of Jesus Christ,  Hallelu Yah!

Into the fall, the ministry received many individual donations of clothes, furniture, housewares and other related items which in turn were distributed directly to persons in need or to organizations specifically engaged in helping people specifically in desperate life situations.

We are thankful to God to allow us to continue and prosper despite the challenges faced and difficulties presented in carrying out charitable work in an ever declining economy and social and moral climate.

Thank you again to all who help and support us as we continue on in doing the work given us to do.

2007

The 1st full year of operation for Sought After Ministry was 2007 and the following are some of the highlights:

We commenced and continue to operate a Ministry House in Scotia, which acts as the center of operations in providing for the spiritual, physical, emotional, relational and financial help to the people we assist and to the core to those committed to the work here.

During this first full year of operations we served about 350 meals, of which about 170 were distributed directly to the poor and homeless on the streets of the cities of Albany and Schenectady.

We distributed about 60 bibles, most on the streets and others to the incarcerated.

Additionally, we provided food, clothes, shelter and other types of helps to needy persons and Christian families.  We gave clothes for children of single mothers, a complete set of winter weather gear to a 73 year old homeless man, provided lodging to a family left homeless in January; even a donated mountain bicycle to a needy man in Albany.  We helped several persons in need move and store their belongings, dug wells, helped pour cement at a Christian bible conference, cast out demons, saw the sick healed, encountered angels and witnessed God start and stop rain upon prayer.

6 people gave their life to Christ.

During the year we produced and distributed several worship DVD's which have been used in homes and local fellowships.

We were graciously given the life work of poems by a Christian gentleman, they have been appearing regularly on the website.

We saw God miraculously cause to be restored the flow of water at the Ministry House on the 8th day of the Feast of Tabernacles and the electricity on the 7th day of Chanukah - The Festival of Lights!

We received about three thousand dollars in donations and yet, by the grace of God, we have accomplished all these things and are continuing in the work.

The Executive Board of Directors thanks each of you for your continued prayers and support.
